About us

Kenya China Diaspora Savings and Credit Co-operative Society Ltd (KCD SACCO) was formally registered in accordance with the Co-operative Societies Act Cap 490 Laws of Kenya, on the 23rd day of November, 2018, under certificate No. CS/23502. KCD SACCO was founded and registered by a group of Kenyans living and residing in the People’s Republic of China as a vehicle for mobilizing funds and overcoming the challenges that face the people who live in the diaspora when it comes to investing back home. This ‘vehicle’ provides a channel through which its members, who live either in the diaspora or in Kenya, can acquire reliable and affordable investment portfolios, and access savings and credit facilities with much ease.

KCD SACCO membership is rapidly growing and is currently drawn from Kenyans living in the over 100 cities of China, other diaspora countries, those who have returned to Kenya as well as members locally living in Kenya.

KCD SACCO has offices located in the heart of the city of NAIROBI at ICEA building 17TH Floor, Kenyatta Avenue, and Opposite the Stanley Hotel.

Mission

To mobilize Savings, create wealth, and provide innovative, efficient and customized affordable financial services to our clientele.


Goals and Objectives

Promote thrift among its members by affording them an opportunity for accumulating their savings and deposits and create thereby a source of funds from which loans can be given to them exclusively for provident and productive purposes, at fair and reasonable rates of interest; thereby enabling them to use and control their money for their mutual benefit.

Ensure personal growth through the introduction of new products and services that will promote the economic base of the members.

Ensure progress of members and society through continuous education programs for proper use of credit, reduction of poverty, human dignity and co-operation.

Apply the co-operative principle of co-operation among co-operatives in order to promote members’ interests. In furtherance to the objects, the society shall affiliate to the relevant National Co-operative Union and the Apex society.

He firmly believes that effective leadership in the Sacco sphere ought to be driven by transparency and adaptability to constantly emerging circumstances. A Sacco that is not responsive to the basic needs of its membership has its obituary cut out.

Experience

George is a career teacher. Currently in China, he has had stints in Kenya and Egypt. In the Sacco fraternity, George has previously served as the chairperson of the Supervisory Committee for Mzima Springs Sacco Ltd in Nairobi, Kenya. .

Brian is a goal-oriented professional with exceptional technical knowledge and skills in business management. He’s a highly creative, self-motivated individual with years of experience in African, American and Chinese Affairs. He also has a track record of gaining greater efficiencies from existing resources as has been a kind empathetic caregiver who has been able to quickly assist Kenyans in distress by forming online groups and assisting in contributions.

Experience

Brian has over 15 years work experience in various fields. He Started working in Magadi Soda Company PLC as Logistics & Welfare Coordinator from where he assisted developing a close knit transport infrastructure .He has also worked at Oaktree Capital Group, LLC Company in U.S as an Investment adviser where he was adept at managing multiple, diverse tasks simultaneously..

Charity is an excellent communicator with extensive skills in handling young learners, counseling and guiding young women, organizing and coordinating training for young adults and offering professional career advice. She is a devoted Christian focusing on uplifting the lives of others.

Experience

She has over 12 years of teaching young learners in an International environment. Currently she’s an elementary teacher at NPA International School, Guangzhou. She’s actively involved in women’s small groups for empowerment the young generation, and she’s a member of the organizing committee of the Annual Guangzhou Expatriates Christian Women’s Conference under (GICF).

Ayugi Brian is an atmospheric scientist who is also passionate about financial literacy; particularly in areas of financial management, budgeting and investing. Currently serving as a committee member of Kenya China Diaspora Sacco. .

Experience

Mr. Ayugi Brian Odhiambo is a university tutor/researcher, currently serving as a Researcher at Seoul National University of Science and Technology, South Korea. He has over10 years of university teaching and Research in Environmental Studies, with a bias to climate science. Born in 1986, Mr. Ayugi is a Kenyan Citizen, and married with two children.

Stephen is a teacher by profession with a demonstrated track record of working for the betterment of the society.

Experience

This is Stephen’s first time taking a role in the Sacco management. He will be serving as a member of Supervisory Committee. He holds the view that Sacco belongs to the members and to ensure its success, members concerns need to be resolved in an amicable and transparent manner and that if the Sacco is doing well then, the welfare of its members are better taken care of. .
